Elon Musk reportedly recruiting team to create his own AI to rival ChatGPT

Elon Musk is planning to take on ChatGPT with his own AI, it has been reported.
Apparently, the Tesla and Twitter CEO is planning to take on OpenAI, a company that he co-founded, with his own form of artificial intelligence.
What’s more, some have suggested that the driving force behind it could be that Musk doesn’t like the idea of ‘woke’ artificial intelligence.

So, he’s apparently been reaching out to AI researchers and experts, sounding them out to help create his own AI chatbot.
Musk left OpenAI back in 2018 and has been critical of them since then.
When he left, he cited ideological differences, and it seems as if that’s still the case. The Information reports that machine learning boffin Igor Babuschkin, who helped out with Google DeepMind and has recently announced that he’d left his job, will be the potential leader of Musk's formative AI company.
However, it’s important to note that Babuschkin told them that he’d not signed anything just yet, although he would be interested in working with Musk.
Musk hasn’t always been over-critical of ChatGPT - the crowning achievement of his old company - since it came out last November.
In fact, he’s sometimes praised the power of the chatbot.

However, on other occasions he’s used his very own social media platform - which must be an interesting thing to be able to say - to trash it for being ‘woke’.
Honestly, does that word even mean anything anymore?
Actually - wait - did it ever?
Anyway, Musk seems to think it does. In fact, he uses it all the time.

Back in December he tweeted: “The danger of training AI to be woke - in other words, lie - is deadly.”
Then, Musk ramped things up a notch last week when he decided to get personal with OpenAI as a company.
"OpenAI was created as an open source (which is why I named it 'Open' AI), non-profit company to serve as a counterweight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft,” he said.

"Not what I intended at all."
Obviously, we can’t confirm whether Musk actually did name OpenAI, but he’s right that the company is involved in a huge deal with Microsoft.
So, what’s going to happen now then?
Only sometimes when Musk says something does it actually happen, but he’s got enough money and enough ambition to believe that he can pull this off if he puts his mind to it.
We’ll just wait and see what he comes back with.
Meanwhile, we can keep typing whatever pops into our heads into ChatGPT.
*This article was not written on ChatGPT… honestly.
